NOT CHANGING...YET

I must admit, though fall is my favorite time of year, I am DETERMINED that I am going to HOLD onto summer a little longer before commiting to any fall decorating...it just seems as if the year has flown by and summer went WAY too quickly...besides it's not OFFICIALLY fall until September 23 so...I will NOT set out one single pumpkin, mum or any other fall decor until then...and while I am gearing up for the change of seasons I decided to take a few photos of the CURRENT decor...though some are already in the warm autumnal tones, they will be changed up soon....but NOT until after September 23...

Yes, the mantel will be changing...wouldn't a nice fall scene look just splendid here...

...I will be saying  BYE BYE birdies...

...to these birdies too...

...the buffet will be transformed into autumn bliss

...but the mosaic votif cups will be staying out for the season...

WELL SWIZZLE MY STICK...

Do any of you bloggers out there remember these from the 1950's?

Well, I wasn't even a gleam in my mother's eye in the 1950's but I sure do remember drinking kool-aid from aluminum tumblers as a child (in the '70's).  I thought they were the COOLEST thing then...and I would LOVE to have a set now.  They really do keep drinks COLD!! and I just love all the rainbow of COLORS they come in...

Now I knew that they made more than just tumblers in this fabulous stuff...drink pitchers, bowls...but I WONDER...did you know they made aluminum SWIZZLE STICKS to match?...(you might call these tea spoons or drink stirrers)...

Well swizzle my stick...I had NO idea...I love vintage swizzle sticks (drink stirrers) and I am starting a COLLECTION...not just of vintage but other unique ones I come across.

Several months ago I found a set of GLASS swizzlers topped with glass daisies...each in a different color...so beautiful...a set of 5 for .25 at a local thrift shop....I just had to have them and that started myh collection...well you will never guess what I found yesterday at that same thrift shop...

...a set of six light green aluminum swizzle sticks...TEA LEAF motif...in mint condition...for JUST .25....I know, I know...I can't believe it myself....while I know these are not completely rare, they are going for about $10.00 or more per set online...so I believe I got an incredible deal...BESIDES...I absolutely love them....and they are now a beautiful addition to my collection...

Perhaps you would care to join me for a sip of Iced tea, or KOOL-AID...if you prefer... and help me try out my new SWIZZLERS...

I'm joining Debra and all the lovely partiers over at Common Ground for Vintage Inspiration Friday...swizzle on over and be prepared to drool at everyone's vintage finds....I'm also joining the Thrifty Things Friday party over at The Thrifty Groove....there's lots of groovy stuff going on there too...so come on over and have a look...

Have a fabulous day!!!

IT'S ALL ABOUT THE BED...

A few years ago while looking for new bedding for my room, I stumbled across an online store (place) called Pine Cone Hill, featuring Bella Notte Linens...there I saw the most beautiful, dreamy beds I had ever seen in my life...

...the fantastic part is you can buy any of the bedding you see....it's ALL for sale...but then isn't everything...that is, FOR THE RIGHT PRICE...

...I am once again in the market for some new bedding, you can read about that in my previous post HERE...anyway, I took an online trip back to Pine Cone Hill to see all their beds in glorious fashion and to find a LOT of inspiration...

...I'm tellin' ya, these people really know how to make a bed...

...or NOT (my messy bed has NEVER looked this good, lol)...and I just thought you all might want to take a look at their selection, get some ideas and inspiration...and IF you have a lot of cash (you lucky dog) buy something (then you could have them ship it to my house, thanks)...I know if I had mucho greenbacks I would take one of everything (including someone to show me HOW to MAKE my bed to look like theirs)...

...anyway, If you have enjoyed the photographs on this post, take a little jaunt on over to PINE CONE HILL to see the rest of their gorgeous beds, furniture and other stuff...I promise you will be delighted, and inspired.

Disclaimer:  This is NOT a paid advertisement for Pine Cone Hill or any of their affiliates, nor have I been offered any of their products in return for this post (although if they are reading this, I would take whatever they want to give me...hint, hint).  I simply just fell in love with their stuff and thought all my bloggy friends might want to take a looksy!
