A NEW RUG...

I was thumbing through the new Pottery Barn catalog a few weeks ago and came across a dining room I would LOVE to copy.  I know, who wouldn't like to copy a room from Pottery Barn?  Anyway, I just absolutely fell in love with one of their American Classic dining rooms and got to thinking about how I could possibly copy it.  My dining room is fairly similar to theirs...similar color, similar windows...plus I have a cabinet similar to the one they show too, and guess what?...

STYLING THE LANDING...

Okay, ever since we painted the landing last weekend I have been dying to get up there and spruce it up a little.  Until now the landing was pretty much bare with the exception of my daughter's vanity table that she no longer wanted in her room.  I hadn't done anything else I guess because I just couldn't imagine decorating something that PINK! A REAL METAMORPHASIS...

When we were in the market for a new house in 2010, I had asked my real estate agent for a tour of the house we now call home.  She said "Oh Sheila, you really don't want to see THAT home, do you?"  I said,  "Yes, I do want to see THAT home."   She said "Okay, but I need to warn you that the previous owners were VERY colorful and some of their color choices might shock you."  I said, "no biggy, paint is cheap and anything can be repainted to suit us."...However I had no idea what I was in for.  When I walked through the door of our home for the first time I thought, "This isn't bad.  I don't know what she is talking about.  Yes, this place does need a fresh coat of paint, but it's not like hideous or anything", then I turned the corner... 

BTP GOT A FACELIFT

BTP got a facelift...Yes, another one!!!  I know, I know, I have changed the appearance of my blog several times and it's only been running for, well let's just say it's one year blogiversary is March 15, 2012.  I guess you could say I change my blog as much as I change things around at home.  Just kidding!   I don't change things at home this much, so why have I changed BTP so often?  There is a reason to the madness...you see
