EASTER WALK...OUTDOOR DRAMA

A few years ago my husband found out through the grapevine about an outdoor walking Easter drama at Bethel Baptist Church in Lonedell, Missouri and which is offered to the public for free. We took our family to this event and had a really good time.  This year

This year a large group from my church got together and went to this event.

I thought I would share with you but I couldn't get any pictures of my own when we went Saturday evening.  Bummer!!   However, much to my excitement, their church has pictures on their site from the year my family went sooooo...I will share those with you.

Won't you please join me for a virtual Easter Walk...(be prepared, this is a picture laden post).

Our journey begins at the market place where there are spices, breads, fruits, homemade butters and cheeses to sample...yummm!  My favorite spice? (herb?) was Spikenard...it has a BEAUTIFUL fragrance.

At the marketplace you are met by a few guides who take you on your journey to Jerusalem...these are Jesus' disciples...

...our guides this year were James and Simon.

Along the way to catch up with Jesus, we encounter some folks who share some stories of how Jesus has touched their lives...we heard stories from the woman at the well, from Jairus of Jesus healing his daughter, and many others...

We met a few Roman soldiers along the way too...they were NOT nice guys!!!

At last we got close enough to see Jesus at work...when he forgives the woman caught in the very act of adultery...

Woman, where are thine accusers?...

Neither do I condemn you.  Go and sin no more...

Though we got close, Jesus alluded us still, so our travels continued until we reached the city (Jerusalem)

but we were too late...Jesus had been whipped, beaten and on his way to be crucified...

Taking a break to thank the real Jesus for giving himself as a ransom for MY sins...Thank you Jesus!!!

But wait, the story's not over...

HE IS RISEN!!!!!

Well, I hope you liked this little virtual tour.  We had a super terrific time on the real tour.  If you would be interested in going on a real Easter Walk of your own, check your local church listings.  Many churches put on holiday dramas that are open to the public and most are free of charge.

HAPPY EASTER!
