STYLING THE LANDING...

Okay, ever since we painted the landing last weekend I have been dying to get up there and spruce it up a little.  Until now the landing was pretty much bare with the exception of my daughter's vanity table that she no longer wanted in her room.  I hadn't done anything else I guess because I just couldn't imagine decorating something that PINK! LOL.  To check out the landing in all it's PINK GLORY go here.  Anyway, now that she is sporting a fresh coat of paint it's time to get her all fixed up.  I pulled out my

horse print and a few other things from storage thinking they would work here.  The picture is a little large...the same width as the vanity table...but I think it will be okay.

I've toyed with the idea of bringing my sofa table up from the basement since it is a little longer but I kind of like the frenchiness and the creamy color of the vanity here, though I still may bring the sofa table up just to see how it would look.  What do you think?  Should I keep this vanity or try the dark wood sofa table?

I brought out my horse statue, bookends and western star candle holder from storage and brought the leopard print ottoman and lantern up from the basement.  Pulled out my leopard print scarf...AGAIN and viole'...one decorated landing....

Sorry for the picture quality.  The sun wasn't out this morning due to rain and I apparently had a bit of a shakey hand too, but here are a few with the lights turned on...

I want to get a rug for up here and something for either side of the vanity to balance everything out and perhaps make it appear larger, but so far I am liking the results.

  3. It looks great - an improvement from the pink vanity (but I'm sure your daughter disagrees)!

Love the horse theme and the fun leopard - go girl with your wild side!

  4. I love this vignette. And the leopard prints really bring in a fun element. I think the vanity looks fine with the picture. If you do decide to bring up the sofa table, would you leave it dark wood or would you paint it white? I would say that if you paint the sofa table, then go ahead and bring it up there. It can't hurt.
Either way, the landing looks great! Thanks for sharing your eye for design with us Show & Tell.
